Information
BST Bazaine is a contemporary grotesque that draws inspiration from hand lettering found on a poster by the legendary Dutch graphic designer Wim Crouwel. The typeface is named after and based on the only existing examples of the letters used to spell the word ‘Bazaine’ found on a poster created by Crouwel for a Jean René Bazaine exhibition at Eindhoven’s Van Abbemuseum in 1959. Marked by unusual contrast and compact forms, BST Bazaine has a dynamic silhouette with asymmetric junctures. Its boxy widths, high x-height, and tight apertures create a tension that gives it a unique character. It is suitable for both display settings and text and features multiple stylistic sets, including unicase capitals, small caps, and alternate forms.
