Exploring the creative potential of new type technologies

JONATHAN VINER is a contemporary art gallery based in London with a busy schedule of shows representing established and emerging artists internationally. Commissioned to create the visual identity, London based OK-RM approached BRITISH STANDARD TYPE to produce a unique headline typeface that would become the central asset within a flexible and elegant identity system.

Working closely with OK-RM, a geometric sans serif, based on the principles of the DIN genre and utilising simple construction, modularity and pure geometry was created. Subtle optical corrections made sure the typeface worked whilst retaining an intentionally raw form.

When used in application and as part of the visual identity the result is a powerfully pure yet elegant system explicitly connecting the name of the proprietor, his current activity and location. The typeface is used across print, web, social, OOH, and signage.
